Old wooden PUNU mask, Gabon, Africa. 
Very clear and elegant lineament. Light wood, handcarved and dark painted. The hair are formed an fine rills an are treated with black pigments. The mask could be dated around to the first half of the the 20th century.
Good used conditions. Normal traces of use and skratches due to the age (please see the pictures). 

Height 29 cm, width 22 cm, depth 14 cm. 

Provenience/Provenance: The  mask comes from a private collection from the region Hessen, Germany.

Beschreibung

Alte Holzmaske der PUNU, Gabun, Afrika.

Sehr klare und elegante Gesichtszüge. Helles, leichtes Holz, handgeschnitzt und dunkel gefasst. Die Haare mit feinen Rillen bearbeitet und mit schwarzen Pigmenten gefasst. Die Maske stammt vermutlich aus der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Guter gebrauchter Zustand. Entsprechend dem Alter Gebrauchsspuren und Kratzer (siehe Bilder). 

Höhe 29 cm, Breite 22 cm, Tiefe 14 cm

Provenienz: Die Maske stammt aus einer Privatsammlung aus Hessen, Deutschland.
